Motorcycle Insurance Requirements
Minimum insurance is required for all motorcycle riders in the state of Ohio. You must make sure that you meet the liability requirements. The following is required:
- Bodily injury coverage of $25,000 and $50,000 per accident
- Property damage coverage of $25,000

Coverage Options
While the minimum liability requirements tend to be a bit on the high side, they will not protect you fully. In order to get full protection, you must choose from any of the following coverage options:
- Collision - Under every circumstance, your bike will remain protected if you are involved in an accident with another motorist.
- Comprehensive - This coverage option will protect your bike from damages resulting from vandalism, theft, wind, and even fire.
- Uninsured/underinsured- This protects you if you are involved with another driver who does not have any insurance or not enough and is at-fault of an accident.
- Medical payments - This will cover your medical expenses including co-pays and prescriptions for injuries resulting from a car accident.
- Accessories coverage - This will protect additional items on your motorcycles such as backrests, saddlebags, seats, and even chrome pieces. Helmets are not protected under this policy.
